The fastest way to reach me is email:

I read everything. I reply to most things within a few days, though it can take longer during busy weeks.
What I'd especially like to hear about
Corrections. Export credit rates, time-of-use windows, rebate budgets, and installed cost per watt all move faster than any article about them. If a tariff sheet, a rebate programme, or a dollar figure on one of these pages no longer matches what your utility or your state administrator is actually publishing, tell me — a link to the current tariff PDF or programme page is the most useful thing you can send. The same goes for the arithmetic itself: if you rebuild a calculation here and get a different answer, I want the inputs you used, because one of us has made an error and it is worth knowing which. Corrections get applied and the article's "updated" date is bumped.
Calculations worth writing up. If you went looking for the payback on something — a specific rate schedule, a battery under a net billing tariff, a heat pump against propane rather than piped gas — and found only marketing pages or a sum that skipped the assumption you cared about, that gap is exactly what belongs here. The phrasing you searched is useful too; it usually turns out to be the right title for the page.
Questions about the arithmetic. I can't tell you whether to sign, price your roof, or say what you personally can claim on a return. But if you are stuck on a step — which figure on the bill is the volumetric rate, what a degradation assumption does to a twenty-five-year total, where your utility publishes its interconnection tariff — ask. If a published source answers it, I will point you at the source.
What I can't help with
- Reviewing your proposal, contract, lease, or PPA, or telling you whether the price or the payback you have been quoted is a good one
- Recommending or vetting installers, lenders, equipment brands, or consultants — and I don't maintain a list, take referrals, or accept commission from any of them
- Tax, financial, or investment advice, including what you can claim, when, or on which return
- Sizing, specifying, or signing off an installation, or anything that requires a licensed contractor, an engineer, or your permitting authority
- Requests to publish sponsored posts, paid guest articles, or link insertions
